About Us

The Kayak Leash was created by Barbara and Steve Gray. We are avid kayakers and saw a need to have something other than a piece of rope to tie up or pull our kayaks.

We began our kayaking life with ocean kayaking using them at Panama City Beach. Kayaking the Cahaba River in Alabama was next. Then the adventure began. As our love for kayaking grew, so did our frequency and we began to see that pulling our kayaks over the shores of the beach or over the rocks and trees of rivers and springs when the water was down, was exceedingly hard on our backs. Ropes were constantly pinching our hands with the weight of the kayak behind it or getting tangled in trees and rocks. We needed something that was practical, comfortable, and stylish.

The Kayak Leash was born through this need.

All of our leashes are handmade by us.

Our brand combines customization with practicality for an irresistible accessory for your kayak/paddle board by adding a no-tangle macrame cord and a no-pinch handle.  Your leash can match or contrast the colors of your vessel. It's your choice.
